43rd Annual Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K
Lace up your shoes and join us for the 43rd Annual Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K on Sunday, May 2, 2027, at Lower City Park in Iowa City!
Hosted by Ronald McDonald House Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois, this annual community tradition brings people together to support families with children receiving medical care. Every step helps provide comfort, support, and a place to call home so that families can stay together.
Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or participating virtually, there's a place for you! This family-friendly event welcomes all ages and abilities, with strollers and leashed pets welcome, too.
Enjoy pre-race snacks, a kids' zone, awards for top runners across multiple age groups, and a FREE lunch after the race! Come for the 5K, stay for the fun, and be part of something that makes a difference for families in our community.

Registration & T-Shirt Information
Registration opens December 1! Early-bird registration: $40 for adults 22 and older through January 8. $45 starting January 9.
NEW this year, registration for Young Adults 21 & under & Youth are $25.
As always, infants and toddlers who will be in a stroller for the race are free and do not need a registration.
T-shirt deadline: Register by April 1 to guarantee your official Red Shoe Run T-shirt! Registrations after April 1 will receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis at packet pickup and on race day.
