The Endurance Grid Sports Quiz

Question 1 of 11

Where do you feel most alive?

What This Is

No Favorites, Just Fit

Every sport has tradeoffs. We won’t pick a winner — we’ll show you the ones you’ll enjoy.

What This Is

  • A quick way to find an endurance sport you’ll genuinely enjoy
  • A way to help athletes understand what sports are out there
  • Focused more on a first milestone in each sport (think a sprint triathlon, not an Ironman)

What This Is Not

  • A ranking of which sport is “hardest” at its longest distance
  • A test you can pass or fail
  • Training or fitness advice — just a nudge toward what you might love

It shouldn’t be hard to get into endurance sports

From the outside, endurance sports can feel like a wall, each with their own gear and lingo. We built this quiz to be the way in: no favorites, no gatekeeping, just a nudge toward the sport you’ll actually enjoy.

Common Questions

What is the Endurance Grid Sports Quiz?
A free 11-question quiz that matches you to an endurance type and ranks all 16 endurance sports on Endurance Grid by how well they fit what you already enjoy — the outdoors, variety, how your body feels about impact, and the movement you like.
Who is the Endurance Grid Sports Quiz for?
Anyone curious about endurance sports — and it’s especially built for beginners aiming toward a big entry milestone in the sport (think a sprint triathlon, not an Ironman). The Endurance Grid Sports Quiz does not play favorites. The goal is to make all 16 sports feel approachable and understandable. It’s meant to be a helpful guide, not a ranking of which sport is hardest.
Which sports can it recommend?
How does the matching work?
Each sport carries affinity weights across activity types — running, cycling, swimming, strength, paddling, and the outdoors — and your answers about impact, how long you want to race, and your race experience refine the fit. Every sport gets a relative match, with your strongest fit at 100%.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
The quiz is free and your top match shows immediately, with no account needed. Creating a free account is optional — it unlocks the full 16-sport ranking and saves your results to your profile, so you can come back to them on the website or in the Endurance Grid app.
Do I need to be fit already to take it?
No — it matches you on what you’ll enjoy, not what you can currently do. Fitness comes with the training; the quiz is about finding the right thing to train for.
What if I don’t love my top match?
That’s fine — it’s a starting point, not a verdict. Create a free account for the full 16-sport ranking and explore the rest; plenty of people fall for their #2 or #3.
