Out Wayne Kids Fun Run Pre-Turkey Trot

November 22, 2026 at the Wayne High School Track. Registration start at 12:30PM, races start at 2PM. 

Our second race, but inaugural turkey run! Please read carefully, because it's going to be a little different from our spring race. For this run, we're seeing how many miles we can complete together AS A WHOLE. 

KIDS CHOOSE THE DISTANCE! (But race within their age group.)

We will still be running the heats by age group so an ambitious four year old isn't taking on a twelve year old. However, within each age group, kids choose how far they want to run.  

Ages 3-4 

50 yards race or

100 yards race

Ages 5-6

100 yards race or

200 meters

Ages 7-9; 10-13

200 meters race or 

400 meter

Mile Challenge- Open to all of the age groups, racers can opt to run/walk a mile after the shorter heats are finished. 

We will add everyone's distances together and see how many miles we can complete, as a goal to beat next year. 

Similarly to our spring run, this is a free event. The only cost is a donation if you so choose to make one, and a shirt if you so choose to order one. The design is the logo. Shirts are $12 for youth and $15 for adult.

This year, donations will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Aside from online donations, there will be a race day option to donate money or aluminum tabs (pop tabs). 

We will have water (or hot chocolate if it's cold), music, and finishing medals for all participants. 

It is important that this race is inclusive, so if you have a child with a disability and this is something they are interested in, please just message me and we will brainstorm accommodations to make it work. 

Also, volunteers are needed! For the different races to run smoothly, we will need the help of as many volunteers as well can get. Message me if you are interested in helping.
