About the Race

The Long Branch 5K Fun Run & Walk is a family-friendly community event that brings together runners, walkers, neighbors, families, and local businesses for a morning of fun, fitness, and community spirit. Proceeds support Long Branch Main Street, the Long Branch Business League, and the annual Long Branch Festival, one of our favorite community traditions.

Whether you're aiming for a personal best, walking with friends, pushing a stroller, or simply enjoying a beautiful morning in the neighborhood, there's a place for everyone at the Long Branch 5K.

• 🏃 Updated Course Route
  This year's course will run along Kennebec Ave. instead of Houston Ave. Check out this year's course map here! 
  • Please note: Due to construction at Garland Park and the adjacent Long Branch Trail, the race will start at Clayborn Ave. more details and logistics info to come!  
• 🏅 New Masters Division (50+)
  We're excited to add a Masters Division for participants age 50 and over.
• 👟 New Largest Team Prize
  The Long Branch 5K is even better with friends! Rally your family, coworkers, neighbors, walking group, or running club. The largest registered team will win a gift card to enjoy at our Post-Race Victory Brunch.

Race T-Shirt Policy
Every participant will receive a shirt!

Want to guarantee your official race shirt in your selected size? Register by October 30, 2026.

• Register by October 30: Your official race shirt in your selected size is guaranteed.
• Register October 31–November 8: You'll receive a shirt, but the official race shirt and your selected size are not guaranteed. An alternate Long Branch shirt may be provided, depending on availability.

Packet Pick-Up

Join us at El Golfo Restaurant - 8739 Flower Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20901 - on Thursday, November 5, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to pick up your race packet and long-sleeve shirt, meet fellow participants, and enjoy Happy Hour and dinner specials from El Golfo!

Race Morning Information
The Fun Run & Walk begins promptly at 8:00 AM at the intersection of Clayborn Ave and the Long Branch Trail. 

If you've already picked up your packet, head straight to the starting line and get ready for a fun morning with the community! Onsite registration and packet pickup will be available beginning at 7:00 AM for anyone who still needs to check in.

We recommend arriving by 7:30 AM to give yourself plenty of time before the event begins.

Getting Here
Participants are encouraged to walk or bike to the event if possible.

Parking is available at:

Rolling Terrace Elementary School - 705 Bayfield St, Takoma Park, MD 20912

Long Branch Community Center - 8700 Piney Branch Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20901 (.5mile walk from race start)

Post-Race Fun & Victory Brunch
Join friends, family, neighbors, and fellow participants at El Gavilan Restaurant beginning at 9:30 AM for our Post-Race Victory Brunch.

Enjoy favorites including Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Pupusas, French Toast, Mimosas, Micheladas, and more while you celebrate your accomplishment and connect with the community.
