***In an effort to include more youth in this event, we will be offering a non-competitive wave at the beginning of each age group. This is a great option for those not comfortable with the full swim distances. Athletes will only swim 50 meters in the pool followed by the age appropriate run distance. The athletes will still get a race shirt, finisher's medal, free USAT membership, and entry into raffle prizes. Their race will not be eligible for the age group awards. Any athlete who would like to participate in this option should register as usual under their appropriate age level. At packet pickup they will identify themselves and receive a wristband that will allow them to join the non-competitive waves.***
Age is determined by the age of the athlete on race day. If you are 12 years old on race day, you will race in the 12 year age group.
Pricing Schedule:
July1-July 31 $30
Aug1-Sept 26 $35
Sept 27-Oct 2 $40

As each swimmer finishes the distance, a new swimmer will be sent to the lane. There will be lifeguards on duty as well as volunteers in the water to ensure a safe racing environment. Spectators are encouraged to watch from the bleacher area.
Transition Details:
Athletes will exit the pool to the transition area located in the adjacent parking lot, where they will change into their running gear. Each athlete will have their own small area in transition. Parents/Guardians/Sherpas are welcome to help the athlete set up their area before the race, but will not be allowed into transition once the race has started.
Run Details:
The run will take place on the paved trail on the Lemont Park District Campus. Both Juniors and Seniors will run half their distance before turning around a cone and heading back to the finish line. SwimRun is a continuous race that alternates open-water swimming and running across a series of segments — you swim in your shoes and run in your wetsuit, carrying your gear the whole way. Many events are raced in pairs.
With no transitions and a course that pinballs between water and land, it's one of the most adventurous formats in endurance sport — often set along wild shorelines and islands.
