The bike ride will head up Island Home for a 14-mile tour of some of S Knoxville's finest scenery. the run will take off along the riverside through the historic Island Home neighborhood onto the Will Skelton Greenway. Expect a little elevation, or as we say "Gently Rolling Hills" on this run, but in the shade and along the breezy river. Cruise back to the finish line in Suttree's boardwalk and celebrate with Knoxville's finest!

The olympic distance will also include a nice DOWNSTREAM swim from Island Home to Suttree's and head out on the same bike path for a 25-mile tour of scenic roads. The run will follow the same path extending just past Meads Quarry parking and follow its way back to Suttree's Landing as well.

About These Sports

This race spans more than one sport — here’s a guide to each, so you can understand what’s involved and decide if it’s the right fit. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer’s event page.

Triathlon

Swim, bike, run — back to back. The sprint distance makes it far more accessible than most people think. Three sports in one race means three movements to train and race day never gets monotonous.

Aquabike

A swim followed by a bike — a triathlon without the run. Sprint and Olympic distances, often alongside a tri at the same venue.

Duathlon

Run, bike, run. The multi-sport format without the swim. Two disciplines, one race — a great bridge between running and triathlon.
