Nestled in the foothills of the Cascades and fed by the Santiam River, Foster Reservoir offers premier recreation facilities to the outdoor enthusiast and an excellent location for a triathlon festival.
Swim in the beautiful Foster Lake. Miles of low use roads wind through the hills and along the river, providing an exhilarating ride for the cyclist. Following the wooded shoreline, the run course offers relief from the summer sun.
To top off your race experience, we put on an awesome post race party! We put together a HUGE BBQ with local produce just for you! After you fill up on delicious food, top it off with a couple of ice cold beers, ciders or beverages on us, and enjoy the live music and awards ceremony.
With a family friendly atmosphere and races for all ages and abilities, you’ll find yourself hanging around for the whole weekend. A large, well kept campground is the final component of the equation for the ultimate triathlon festival. We hope you will join us!
The Best of the West Triathlon Festival aims to promote health and fitness through a weekend of competitive and fun racing while also providing a healthy living expo where participants, volunteers and spectators will learn how to live healthier happier lives. From Endurance Grid
This race spans more than one sport — here’s a guide to each, so you can understand what’s involved and decide if it’s the right fit. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer’s event page.
Swim, bike, run — back to back. The sprint distance makes it far more accessible than most people think. Three sports in one race means three movements to train and race day never gets monotonous.
A swim followed by a bike — a triathlon without the run. Sprint and Olympic distances, often alongside a tri at the same venue.
Built around sustained effort on a bike, exploring cities on the open road. Beginner distances create a great entry point into endurance sports.
Run, bike, run. The multi-sport format without the swim. Two disciplines, one race — a great bridge between running and triathlon.
Kayak, canoe, SUP, and outrigger races on rivers, lakes, and ocean. Sprints to marathon distances, split by craft.
From 5K to marathon, running races are an accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
Open water races take place in lakes, rivers, bays, and oceans. Distances can run anywhere from a short 500m swim to 10K marathon events. Just you and the water.
