Anthony’s Amici 5K Trail Run and 1.4 Mile Walk

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The event includes a chip-timed 5K Run, an untimed 1.4 Mile Walk and ALL DAY CELEBRATION from 9am to 4pm!

We are gathering to honor Anthony DiPrinzio’s life and legacy on what would have been his 30th birthday this December. All proceeds from this event will be allocated to the Anthony DiPrinzio Entrepreneurship Endowment at the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) at University of California, Berkeley. Gifts to the Entrepreneurship Endowment support programs for Berkeley students, with a preference for programs and activities in entrepreneurship, blockchain and technical innovation. At SCET, students gain an innovative mindset, acquire hands-on experience, and turn their ideas into impact.  Contributions will support student entrepreneurs to expand and challenge their innovation and technology skills with the intent to create new, futuristic ideas that will lead to advancements in innovation and technology across multifaceted industries.

"Roll With It" Pop-Up Dance & Karaoke! Hang out after you cross the finish line to help us celebrate Anthony the best way we know how, with music, dancing, singing and a lot of love! 
Anthony was a spectacular dancer and karaoke performer, so we would love to honor his love of dancing and singing in a special way! Lace up your running/walking shoes, bring your best dancing moves, karaoke voices, creative energy, and let's 'Cut Loose' to celebrate Anthony!
Dance-Off: 
After the final runners and walkers complete their trails and awards are given for top runners, our DJ is dropping Anthony's absolute favorite, 'Dancing in the Moonlight' for an impromptu 5 minute dance party! No sign-ups needed. Just grab your friends or hit the dance floor solo, and show us your best dance moves! Our guest judges will be floating through the crowd to award our top dancers!
Karaoke (all day pop ups):
After the 'Dance-Off', we're opening up the mic for 'Anthony's Favorite Track Karaoke'. We'll have a basket filled with his all-time favorite songs. Just grab an index card, step up to the mic, and sing one of his anthems (or choose your favorite song) to win a prize and lots of bragging rights!

Anthony DiPrinzio Innovation Champion Award
This first-time, annual award was given to a UC Berkeley student on May 8, 2026. The honor was presented to a student member of the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) who embodied SCET’s mission of empowering innovators to change the world and make an extraordinary contribution to the campus innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, just as Anthony did!

Anthony DiPrinzio Professional Development Session
Held twice per year, the Anthony DiPrinzio Professional Development Session is led by a Cal alum and provides a tangible benefit to students participating in the *Collider Cup & Expo. Innovation champion candidates, which include 60-70 students from the Collider Cup & Expo, are invited per session. 

*Collider Cup & Expo is held annually at UC Berkeley with over 200 in-person attendees and many online viewers, where approximately one dozen teams compete at SCET’s flagship event. SCET believes that innovation is an interdisciplinary activity. While many students are drawn from SCET’s courses, Collider Cup is accessible to all students and majors, fostering an environment where diverse minds collaborate, innovate, and embark on innovative journeys. This is a creative way to share Anthony’s legacy and instill his innovative and entrepreneurial spirit in current UC Berkeley students and the greater SCET community!
