Tour de Gourd | 5k run & 2 mile walk | Damariscotta Pumpkinfest | Maine is a running race on October 12, 2026 in Newcastle, ME, with entry fees from $10 to $25.
From the Organizer
Autumnal run and walk in Midcoast Maine.
Returning for the second year, the Tour de Gourd takes in the magnificent Pumpkinfest displays of downtown Damariscotta and Newcastle, before looping round leafy streets. The final kilometer is downhill, all the way to the winning giant pumpkin on Elm Street Plaza.
The run and walk events are similar routes - the walk continues straight to the finish when the run doubles back to retrace its steps. The run is chip timed, while the walk is not timed (2 miles should take most walkers around 40 minutes).
For peak pumpkin appreciation pleasure, there is a police road closure for the first section of the race on Main Street. The back streets are open to traffic, so please keep eyes and ears open for traffic - particularly emergency vehicles.
