Running 4 Clean Water-PLUS 2026 is a running race on October 17, 2026 in Garland, TX, with an entry fee of $35.
From the Organizer
5 K Run (Chip Timed)/1 Mile Fun Run (New this year is the option of running virtually)
Our continuing goal is to provide clean and safe drinking water, education, and food security for the rural regions of Sierra Leone. Dirty water threatens lives and destroys livelihoods on a devastating scale. Additionally, severe issues will help maintain the clean water wells already in place and the provision of nutritious food in the newly built schools in the Bo Region. Our Garland Community continues our partnership with Seven Hills Global Outreach and Zion Ministries in Sierra Leone as we support this life-changing endeavor.
Beginning our 15th year, Running 4 Clean Water Plus has raised more than $230,000 to support our partners in Sierra Leone, helping lower infant mortality and uplifting the poorest of the poor. Come be a part of this life-saving event.
Bib and T-shirt Pickup: Bib and T-shirts can be picked up at First United Methodist Church, Garland (801 W. Avenue B, Garland, TX 75040) on Friday October 16th from 5 to 7 pm. Bibs and T-shirts can also be picked up the morning of the race at on-site registration after 6:30 am. However, no bag check service will be provided on race day, so please plan accordingly.
ABOUT THE TRAIL- the 5K will be run on the Duck Creek Greenbelt trail. The path is cement and goes thru wooded and open areas. As with any cement path there may be areas of high and low pavement, so please be aware when running/walking. There is one very low area of the pathway, that might cause the event to be postponed if it rains the day of the event or just prior to it. The race managers will survey the trail the day prior to access conditions and make last minute determinations.
VIRTUAL RUN OPTION- This year we have launched the option to run your own course or track and then post your times back into the registration site. This option allows you to have a place to keep track of your run times on your favorite run site, and an opportunity to give to a worthy cause at the same time! The Virtual Run Challenge is pre-formatted to challenge you to run 100 miles over time. Each time you submit your run times you will see a tracking at the bottom of your link tracking your progress toward the 100 miles challenge. NOTE- Please save the link you received after registering, as that link will be your portal to submit your time each time you run!
