From the Organizer
The Memorial Ruck serves as a powerful reminder that suicide prevention is a shared responsibility. Participants will carry 18-pound ruck sacks to symbolize the approximately 17.5 Veterans who die by suicide each day in the United States, as reported by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The weight is rounded to 18 pounds to create a tangible representation of the burden carried by Veterans, their families, and communities impacted by suicide.
