Reindeer Run 5K – Run, Celebrate, and Make a Difference!
The Reindeer Run 5K is one of Pittsboro’s favorite holiday traditions! This family-friendly event brings together runners, walkers, families, and community members while raising funds for the Chatham County Partnership for Children’s Physical Activity Grant Program, which helps create more opportunities for people of all ages to stay active and healthy throughout Chatham County.
The Chatham County Partnership for Children proudly supports families with children under the age of five through direct family services, coaching and technical assistance for child care providers, and programs that promote healthy family activities across our community.
Visit chathamkids.org to learn more about the impact made possible through your participation.
An Updated Course for 2026
This year, participants will experience an updated course route. While portions of the race on the Central Carolina Community College campus may look different from previous years, runners will still enjoy the familiar downtown Pittsboro section, a favorite part of the Reindeer Run experience. The course will continue to begin and end at Central Carolina Community College and provide the same festive atmosphere that participants have come to expect.
Whether you're racing for a personal best or enjoying a fun holiday outing with family and friends, the Reindeer Run offers something for everyone. Serious runners will appreciate our USATF-sanctioned course, while others may choose to wear their favorite holiday attire and enjoy the event at their own pace.
