From the Organizer
Race Purpose:
Paws to the Rescue 5K is both a fundraiser and an opportunity to amplify the mission of local animal rescues and supporting organizations like Hand2Paw and Waiting On A Friend Animal Rescue, while engaging our supportive community! Organized by two seniors at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School as part of a business project, the race brings people together for a morning of fitness and fun. All proceeds go directly to Hand2Paw.
Hand2Paw Mission Statement:
“Hand2Paw provides paid internships working with rescue animals as a way to strengthen connection, compassion, and community for young adults from underrepresented communities, including those impacted by trauma, inequity, housing insecurity, or foster care involvement. We equip young people with skills, social-emotional growth, and paid experience to build stable futures and pursue meaningful careers in animal care, while contributing to stronger, more informed communities that support animal well-being."

Awards (for 5K):
Top 3 overall per gender
Top 1 in each age group per gender (12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+)
Amenities:
- T-shirt guaranteed by 11/2/25 (included in 5k - $5 up-charge for all other participants)
- EVERY participant gets a medal!

- Dog adoption center (Waiting On A Friend Animal Rescue)
- Dogs are encouraged to be a part of the morning (Exception: 5k race & 1/4 mile dash)
