Madison Triathlon is a triathlon race on July 24, 2027 in Ennis, MT, with an entry fee of $100.
From the Organizer
The Madison Triathlon is an Olympic-distance triathlon with a net descent of 660 feet. Athletes begin the event in the Madison River-fed Ennis Lake, followed by a bike leg that takes them up and over Norris Hill (more like a mountain with an 800-foot climb). The final 10-kilometer run features a gradual, gut-checking uphill test to the finish line at the famous Pony Bar. Unlike other GYAS races, this triathlon course is 93% paved, and the gravel that does exist is well-packed. The inaugural year was 2012.
The course is public on Garmin: https://connect.garmin.com/app/course/512587601
Prizes are awarded to the first and second place male and female finishers. Please stay for the after-party at the Pony Bar: https://montanaponybar.com/

Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it’s the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer’s event page.
Three sports, one race — swim, bike, run in sequence, with transitions that are a discipline of their own.
Open water, open roads, and competition with yourself. Cross the finish line knowing what it took to get there.
Swim, bike, run — back to back. The sprint distance makes it far more accessible than most people think. Three sports in one race means three movements to train and race day never gets monotonous.
