Hare of the Dog 2 Mile Run/Walk is a running race on January 2, 2027 in Simpsonville, SC, with an entry fee of $19.
From the Organizer
The most paws-itively hare-raising race of the year
“Two miles, one hill, and a beer waiting at the end of it. This is the short, fast, unserious way to start a year — a paved sprint over the Bridgeway Station Bridge and out along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, done before most people have finished their first cup of coffee. Bring the dog, bring the pack, bring whoever you convinced to sign up on December 31st.
Two miles is an honest distance. It is long enough that going out too hard will cost you, and short enough that there is no hiding and no recovering — whatever pace you pick in the first quarter mile is roughly the pace you are going to live with. That makes for a genuinely fun race to watch and a genuinely uncomfortable one to run well, which is the point.
Afterward, stick around for music and a post-race party where you can groove, paw-ty, and celebrate with your pack. Every finisher gets a medal, complimentary race photos, and a cold one, and your entry supports local nonprofits through the Giving Series.

One hundred percent paved and super speedy, with only one itty-bitty hill at the very end — which you will have plenty of time to think about on the way out. The route winds over the iconic Bridgeway Station Bridge and along the connecting paths of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. It is an out-and-back, so stay to the right on your way out and back and you will keep the traffic flowing for everyone.
