Gateway to the Cure Covered Bridge 5K is a running race on October 17, 2026 in Thurmont, MD, with an entry fee of $35.
From the Organizer
For the 11th year in a row, the Town of Thurmont is offering a challenging 5K loop course that is both interesting for avid runners as well as participants looking to complete their first 5K! Walking (and strollers!) are always welcome too!
Over the past 10 years, the Town of Thurmont has raised over 120K donated to the Patty Hurwitz Fund at FMH for breast cancer research (Pink Ribbon Frederick). Continuing in this endeavor, all money raised from the Gateway to the Cure Covered Bridge 5K will be donated to the Fund.
Each registrant will receive a personally crafted pint glass complete with the Gateway to the Cure logo. There will be before and after-race food as well. Awards go to the Top 5 Male and Female finishers regardless of age.
Come join us for a fun race and a great cause and Thurmont's premiere and only 5K racing event!
