Frozen Foot Challenge Adventure Race is an adventure race on March 6–7, 2027 in Chesterfield, VA, with entry fees from $60 to $140.
The Fozen Foot Challenge Adventure Race is an exciting early season race! Located in the renowned Pocahontas State Park in Virginia, which boasts over 40 miles of IMBA Bronze Mountain Bike trails! Expect fast, flowy singletrack as you navigate an exciting course! This race will also feature fantastic off-trail foot navigation through beautiful, open woods along small rolling hills. This is a perfect race to go fast, have fun, and get ready for the AR season ahead! This course has mountain bike and trekking sections only.
We will offer a 5-hour and 10-hour race on Saturday and a 4-hour Family Race on Sunday. Our 5 Hour Course is part of the Virginia State Parks Adventure Series and is perfect for all levels, from beginners, families, and kids through advanced athletes. Our 10 Hour course is our premier event, which offers longer distances and a more challenging course design!
On Sunday, families can experience a unique form of adventure racing that focuses more on team challenges and bonding than a classic AR-style course. This is not your typical Adventure Race, this is a Family Adventure Scramble. The course is open for 4 hours, and families can start whenever they choose. This is a real choose-your-own-adventure experience. Grab your map, choose your route, take on fun and unique challenges, and make memories that last a lifetime. There are no awards, as this is not a race. It is a true adventure experience where the reward is the journey itself. This race is priced per family, not per person.
Make it a truly adventurous weekend by participating in both days of racing!

Adventure racing strings together trekking, mountain biking, and paddling — with navigation by map and compass — across a course you have to find as much as finish. Most events are raced as a team, often over many hours or even multiple days.
It rewards the all-rounder and the problem-solver as much as the pure athlete: route choice, teamwork, and staying steady when you're tired and off the map are as much the challenge as the miles.
Trek, mountain bike, and paddle with navigation between checkpoints — from a few hours to multi-day expeditions, usually in teams.
