Location:
2 Lakeside Drive,
Pawling, NY 12564

Beer Mile Rules:
- Each competitor must drink 4 bottles or cans of beer and run a total of 1 mile. The sequence is: chug a beer, run 400 meters, repeat until all beers are consumed and the mile is completed.
- Beers must be consumed in the designated transition areas before starting each running lap.
- Competitors must drink bottled or canned beer of no less than 355 mL (12 oz), which is a standard size in the USA and some other countries.
- No specialized cans or bottles that allow for faster pouring (e.g., wide-mouth cans or bottles) are permitted.
- Beer cans must not be tampered with in any way (no shotgunning, puncturing, or squeezing). The only action allowed is opening the can using the tab.
- The beer must have a minimum of 5% alcohol by volume. Hard ciders, hard sodas, and other sugary alcoholic beverages do not qualify.
- Each beer bottle or can must not be opened until the competitor enters the transition zone for each lap.

- Competitors who vomit before finishing the race must complete one penalty lap immediately after their fourth lap. If vomiting occurs more than once during the race, only one penalty lap is required at the end.
- If attempting a performance for official records, it is recommended to provide video evidence of the race to verify that all beer was consumed. This can be achieved by tipping the empty beer over your head after each chug or by collecting the containers and measuring the remaining liquid to ensure it totals less than 4 oz across all four beers.

Handling of Alcohol on Town Property:
- All alcohol must be checked upon arrival and placed in designated areas.
- Only bring the 4 beers you plan to consume; no additional alcohol is permitted on town property.

Participant Guidelines:
- All participants consuming alcohol must arrive and leave with a designated driver.
- All participants must read, sign, and date the waiver along with their designated driver. The waiver can be downloaded from our website.

Designated Driver Guidelines:
- Designated drivers are not permitted to consume any alcohol before, during, or after the event while on town property.
- Designated drivers must read, sign, and date the participant waiver.

Beer Mile Categories:
- Traditional Beer Mile – 5% ABV or more
- Light Beer Mile – Less than 5% ABV
- Cider Beer Mile – 5% ABV or more
- NA Beer Mile – Non-Alcoholic Beer
- Soda Mile – For designated drivers and underage participants (minimum age of 18)

Each category will be assigned a different color wristband upon arrival. For those competing in alcohol categories, identification will be checked.

Beers on Me? Beers on You!
The event is BYOB. We will NOT provide any alcohol for participants. You will likely want to run the beer mile drinking a beer you enjoy. If competing with friends, consider purchasing a 6 or 12-pack together.

How It Will Work:
- Each category will have its own race start time. Depending on the number of entries, there may be multiple heats for each race.
- Tables will be set up in the transition area for runners to place their beer.
- At the start of the race, runners will drink their first beer in the transition area before starting lap one, and will consume subsequent beers in the transition area of each lap until the mile is completed.

Clean Up:
This is a carry-in, carry-out event. All garbage and cans must be taken with you at the end of the race.
