IMPORTANT RACE DAY INFO!
This 5K or 1 mile is great for families, friends, and communities of all skill levels. ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US FOR THIS FREE COMMUNITY EVENT!
Sponsors:
Robeson Road Runners is a volunteer-led nonprofit. We are only able to achieve certain things through our community sponsors. Please take a look at the names of our sponsors, follow them on social media, give a shout-out or tag, and support them directly if you get the opportunity. This year's shirts are so fun and the decorations/snacks are going to be a real treat. It's all thanks to these people:
Chick-fil-A Roberts Avenue-Jackson Court
Parking:
Lots of parking available downtown! We will be shutting down Elm St. between 4th and 3rd during the race for our finish line so we do not recommend parking there. The Downtown Square, 3rd St., Chestnut St., and Courthouse Parking lot, just to name a few, are all convenient to start and finish lines.
RUNSIGNUP PRE-REGISTERED:
We will be handing out your shirts the morning of the Turkey Trot, starting at 7 am. Follow the signs to the pre-registration shirt pickup area. We will have 5 pickup lines based on LAST name. This will hopefully keep the lines moving and get you in and out quickly. The shirt size picked at registration is the size that you will be given.
You have already signed the electronic waiver! No need to do anything else but pick up your shirt. Use all that free time to browse around 219 Elm, buy a hot chocolate, or stretch so you don't be a "turkey" and pull something.
DAY OF SIGNUPS:
You will need to go to Downtown Lumberton, under the UNC Health Pavilion. Follow the signs to the DAY OF REGISTRATION table. Waivers will need to be signed. We will have a limited number of shirts to hand out to Day-Of Participants. This will be on a first come, first served, cannot guarantee sizes, basis.
COURSE AND RUN:
Attached is our 5K route and 1 mile route. The course is marked with directional signs as well as spray painted turn signs on the street. The course is very flat with one slightly downhill section near the river. Please be careful of slipping if it's wet or if there are leaves!
We will head over from the Downtown Square/Pavilion to our starting line on Chestnut Street at 8 AM. This is a great opportunity to warm up as we walk/jog over. We will have a quick race briefing and get you trotting ASAP.
AFTER:
We will have some photo opportunities, fun snacks, and post run recovery items at the finish line.
We feel very blessed that you are choosing to spend part of your day with us! Can't have Thanksgiving without a Turkey (Trot)!
