Chesapeake Patriot 5K Run and 1K Walk 2026

Enjoy a beautiful morning at Gunpowder Falls State Park - Hammerman Area, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, for a 5K Run or 1K Walk. Register as an individual or bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run, walk, or stroll, and spread the good cheer overlooking the picturesque Chesapeake Bay.  This year, we welcome the Mighty Milers Group, Foot's Forecast Group, the Teacher Tribe Group, and The Shamrock's Group.  We recommend wearing red, white, and blue to commemorate Veterans Day.  "Rubble" the Construction Dog is joining us.  Take a photo of yourself, your team, or your kids with Rubble.

Registration 8 AM to 8:55 AM, follow signs to the parking area and "Start" line. Opening Ceremonies from 9 to 9:15 AM. Run and Walk begins at 9:15 AM. Prizes awarded following the Run and Walk.  We will have a Professional Timer using state-of-the-art, high performance RFID race timing technology for accuracy. Your results will be available at the event and published online along with the ability to print a Certificate and view a Finish Line Video Link. The course is paved and flat except for a small downgrade at the start and small upgrade near the end. Event occurs rain or shine. Follow our Facebook group "Chesapeake Patriot 5K Run and 1K Walk" for the latest updates. Although we list a 1K Walk, walkers can walk the entire course or whatever works best for them.

Proceeds benefit the Chesapeake Bay Association, Inc. for our environmental support programs and our scholarships for deserving graduates.  We support average achieving graduates as well as athletes and high achievers for college tuition or trade school tuition.  Each runner and walker will be able to nominate their favorite High School for a scholarship.  Top votes from our events will determine the High Schools who receive a scholarship.

Chesapeake Bay Association, Inc. was awarded Best of Baltimore Non-Profit / Charity Association in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 and Winner of the Dundalk Eagle's Reader Approved poll.  Our Spring 5K, the Chesapeake Shamrock 5K was Winner of the Avenue News Reader Approved poll.  Awarded Honorable Mention in the Best of Anne Arundel County Readers' Choice Poll. Winner for 2025 Best of Harford County.
