Join us for a one of a kind unique experience! The Hart-Miller Island Run will take place on October 3rd, 2026. Registration includes a race shirt, transportation to and from the island, and a race experience like no other. The race is limited to 120 registrants and 25 guests (one guest per registrant until guest limit has been reached). This will sell out quickly! Due to the nature of the event and travel logistics, only registered participants and registered guests will be permitted to board the boats to and from the island.
IMPORTANT: IN ORDER FOR THE EVENT THE EVENT TO STAY ON SCHEDULE, PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PREPARED TO BOARD THE BOAT AT THE TIME SELECTED DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS. DUE TO THE TIME REQUIRED TO SHUTTLE PARTICIPANTS FROM PARKING AT ROCKY POINT TO THE BOAT DOCK, WE SUGGEST THAT YOU ARRIVE AT ROCKY POINT AT LEAST 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED BOAT DEPARTURE. PARTICIPANTS THAT MISS THEIR SCHEDULED BOAT DEPARTURE RUN THE RISK OF NOT BEING TRANSPORTED TO THE ISLAND FOR THE RACE.

Race Day: Onsite (on Hart Miller Island) starting at 7:30AM (if you have not picked up your packet prior to race day please bring your confirmation email to board the boat)
6:30 AM - Rocky Point Park opens for participant parking
7:00 AM - First boat leaves for Hart-Miller Island
8:40 AM - Last boat leaves for Hart-Miller Island (no additional trips to the island will be made after this time)
9:30 AM - Race start
10:30 AM - Awards
10:30 AM - First boat departs Hart-Miller Island
12:30 PM - Last boat departs Hart-Miller Island
All participants will receive a race shirt, shuttle and boat transportation to and from the island. Light refreshments will be served post race.
Awards will be presented to the top three overall Male, Female, and Non-Binary Individuals and top male and female finishers in the following age groups (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over)
***Due to boat capacity, only registered participants will be permitted to board the boats to and from the island.***
After going through the gate house you will make an immediate right hand turn and follow signage to park in grass lot adjacent to the Rocky Point boat launch. A staff member will be on site to provide directions.

You will be shuttled from the parking area to the Maryland Environmental Service Pier (approximately a 5 minute ride). During registration you will select a departure time for your boat ride to Hart-Miller Island. Plan to be parked at the Rocky Point lot no later than 20 minutes prior to your departure time. 1st boat will leave for the island at 7AM and last boat will return at 12:30PM.
The Hart-Miller Island Run is a rain or shine event, and the race will go on as planned unless thunder and/or lightning is detected at race time, or other extreme weather is present. Standard practice is to wait 30 minutes after lightning or thunder is detected to begin the race. If after waiting 1 hour we still have lightning and/or thunder in the area we will be forced to cancel the race. Unfortunately, race registration fees cannot be refunded.
The race benefits the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Friends of Maryland State Park Foundation. The race is held in partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Environmental Service, Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration, and Friends of Maryland State Parks.
