Roads close at 8 a.m., warm-up is at 8:15 a.m. and 5K begins at 8:30 a.m.
Novice or advanced runners of all ages are invited to attend the 20th Annual Get Ready! Get Set! Get Fit! 5K Run/Walk and One-Mile Walk to support older adult health and fitness by raising much-needed funds for County senior exercise classes and fitness centers.
Celebrate National Senior Center Month, National Falls Prevention Day and Active Aging Week at this event. The One-Mile Fun Walk is perfect for our youngest and oldest participants. The 5K Race will be held on CCBC Essex campus, will be timed and professionally managed by Charm City Run, and will include a virtual component. Free fall prevention and health and fitness screenings will be available, as well as vendor tables and displays.
Parking: 5K runners and walkers park in Lot 1; one-mile walkers park in Lot 2.
The entirety of the route will be on the campus of CCBC Essex. For safety reasons, the race course is closed to animals, bikes, skaters and baby joggers or strollers. The event will be held rain or shine.
On race day, 5K runners and walkers will park in lot 1; one-mile walkers will park in lot 2.

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate, but are not local or are unable to attend the race in person.
1, Register for the virtual event. Be sure to sign up for text or emails.
2, Pick up your race shirt at packet pickup on Friday, September 18 at Bykota Senior Center, 611 Central Avenue, Towson, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also pick up your shirt post-race at any senior center. To coordinate pick up at a senior center, email sbrooks@baltimorecountymd.gov.
3. You will receive a text or email when the race begins on Sunday, September 20.
4. Run your race and submit your results by text message, email or by providing your results to Charm City Run by Sunday, September 27, at 11:59 p.m. eastern time. Results update in real time as people submit their race times. Be sure to take photos and share on our photo page.
5. Race results are posted on our virtual results page.
6. Virtual race performances are not eligible for the event awards.
