IMPORTANT! HCMA 5K POSTPONED - JOIN US FOR AN OPEN HOUSE. 

Due to the weather forecast and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our participants and patients, the HCMA 5K has been postponed and will be rescheduled for spring. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Although the 5K has been postponed, we hope you'll still join us this morning. 

HCMA OPEN HOUSE 

Today from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at 66 Ford Road, Denville, NJ 07834. 

Come spend the morning with the HCMA community. We'll have refreshments, fun crafts for kids, and opportunities to socialize, connect with others affected by HCM, and meet the HCMA team. 

Run or walk the Bighearted 5K with HCMA! 

The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (HCMA) provides support, advocacy, and education to patients, families, the medical community, and the public about hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and all thick heart muscle disorders, while supporting research and fostering the development of treatments. Join the HCMA's annual 5K around Denville to help keep families whole...one step at a time.

We are offering fundraising incentives! Please share a link to your fundraiser via social media, email, or text with your family and friends to help raise money for this cause. You can find the link to your personal fundraiser in the confirmation email from RunSignUp once you register for the race. 

Personal Fundraising Incentives: 

• $150: Your race registration fee will be refunded. Eligible up until race day! 
• $300: We will honor you with a "thank you" sign set up along the route or you can dedicate a sign to a loved one with HCM. Incentive eligibility closed 9/25/2026. 
• $750: You will receive a HCMA 5K sweatshirt. Eligible up until race day!

  • Date & Time: Sunday, October 11th, 2026 | 8:30 AM - 9:45 AM

Travel Advisory: Roadwork near the race venue may cause delays. Please enter 88 Ford Road, Denville, NJ 07834 directly into your GPS and allow extra time for your drive.

Parking Information: 

• Parking will be available in the business complex at 88 Ford Road, Denville, NJ. 

Shuttle Information: 

• Limited shuttle transportation will be available from the conference hotel to the race venue. Shuttle sign-up will take place during bib pickup at the conference, and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do not reserve a shuttle seat, we encourage participants to drive themselves (you may consider carpooling) or use a rideshare service.

Awards: 

• Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: Under 30, 30-49, and 50+.

Please note that t-shirts will only be available to order up until September 25th. After September 25th, you will not be guaranteed a t-shirt with entry.
