What is this all about?
Winter triathlon is the snow‑season evolution of traditional triathlon: run → bike → ski, performed entirely on winter terrain. Born from athletes who wanted a multisport challenge year‑round, the sport has grown into a global discipline recognized by World Triathlon and USA Triathlon. This race is open to everyone (USAT membership is required).

Who is Tri 45?
Tri 45 is a Michigan‑born nonprofit race organization dedicated to building winter multisport opportunities. Founded in 2021 by athletes who wanted a winter triathlon in the U.S., Tri 45 has become the leading winter triathlon event in the country. 🌨 WEATHER POLICY Snow, shine, ice, or flurries — we race. If conditions become unsafe, course distances or layout may be adjusted. This is a non‑refundable event. If cancellation becomes necessary, we will reschedule as soon as possible. If there’s no skiable snow → Run • Bike • Run format will be used.
