The 1/25 Brothers in Arms 11K Memorial Ruck honors the 10 United States Marines and 1 Navy Corpsman who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1st Battalion, 25th Marines 2006 deployment to Iraq.
JOIN THE MISSION on Sunday, October 25, at 11:00 AM at Doyle Field 206 Priest St in Leominster, Massachusetts as we honor and remember these men for their service to their country. Uniform of the day will be Boots & Utes or SILKIES. If you don't have either, no worries! Regular workout clothes are fine!
25% of the proceeds raised will be donated to the 1st Battalion, 25th Marines Association to support its fundraising and charitable efforts. These funds will benefit the 1/25 Marine Association Scholarship and other activities dedicated to fostering the well-being of our Navy, Marine Corps, and Gold Star Family communities. All donations are tax-deductible.
In addition to registering for the ruck, you can elevate your involvement by becoming a RUCK SPONSOR. Each Sponsor / Team will carry a rucksack representing one of the 11 fallen service members and commit to a fundraising goal of $1,000 in support of the mission. Each Sponsor / Team will be provided a memorial bib that can be placed on his or her pack. The bib will have a picture of one of the fallen Marines or Corpsman, name and rank, hometown, and KIA date. Rucking is covering ground on foot under a weighted pack — borrowed from the military and turned into everything from timed solo challenges to long team events. Simple to start, deceptively hard to finish.
It rewards steady effort and mental grit over speed, and the community side — moving together under load — is a big part of the draw.
