Wyoming Valley Striders 5K

Celebrate our 51st year with us—run our 5K on November 8, 2026! Early bird rate has been by one week!

Our 3rd Annual 5K race is happening alongside our 20K Run on November 8th at the Susquehanna Warrior Trail in Shickshinny. 

• • Pre-entry fee: WVS members $20, non-members $25
    Price increases 8/15/26: WVS members $25, non-members $30

  • WVS members were emailed the discount code in the November, February, and April newsletters. 
    (Our race discount codes are for current members of the WVS and should not be shared.)  

  • Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and then receive an email reply with the race discount code to use during race registration.

  • Entry fee includes a commemorative t-shirt for entrants who register by end of day on October 11, 2026. 

  • Runners must pre-register online. Race day entries will not be accepted.

  • Online registration will close Friday, November 6, 2026 at noon.

  • Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Race Day

• • Pre-entry packet pick-up will begin at 7:15 am under the pavilion at Oak & North Canal Streets.
    (Follow Rt. 11 into Shickshinny and turn onto Oak Street) Directions

Start

• • Race start is at 9:10 am.
    (20K runners will start at 9:00 am)

  • This race will be chip timed.

Course

• • Out and back on the Susquehanna Warrior Trail.

Hydration:

• • Individual water bottles will be available at the finish.

• • If the race is cancelled due to any directives by the hosted facility, or the WVS, 2026 pre-entries will be deferred to next year. No refunds will be given.

  • This race is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can however become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $12 per year. Membership cards are sent within a week of receipt or given race day if received 14 days prior to event or not yet expired.

  • The race directors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.
