From the Organizer
A fun and powerful event that brings our community together to stand—and now run—with survivors, sending a clear message that they are seen, believed, and never have to stand alone. This event raises both awareness and critical funds for Sexual Assault Services, a local nonprofit providing free and confidential support to individuals impacted by sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and all forms of sexual violence.
This year, we are excited to introduce a new addition to our event: a timed 5K run through the beautiful trails of the Northland Arboretum. The 5K is a separate event, created in response to years of community interest in having a professionally timed run. The registration fee for the 5K helps cover the costs associated with timing and event logistics, ensuring a quality experience for participants while still supporting our mission.
Following the 5K, participants and community members are invited to take part in our signature Walk-A-Mile-In-Her-Shoes event at 10:30 a.m. This walk is a bonus event after the run and offers a meaningful opportunity for men, women, and children to step into the shoes of survivors—literally. We’ll have a variety of high heels available for those who want to participate in this powerful and eye-opening experience.
Participants are welcome to join one or both events, making it a flexible and inclusive day for everyone. In addition, attendees can enjoy a silent auction and other family-friendly activities.
Come out, show your support, and be part of a meaningful and memorable community event.
