The Holiday Run & Walk For Toys

Last year was crazy! A snow storm the night before and we still had 67 people show up.

Then we did a re-boot a week later and another 80 showed up.

That's determination, and some might say crazy! But we will always be here for you!

 

JOIN US should you want to take a stroll/run, donate the toys,

and stay for a warm beverage @ the Little Pub on Dec. 13th.

 

In 2024 & 2025 WE ALMOST SOLD OUT AT 250 - we have the room.

Our permit number is based on your safety, parking, food, swag & enough adult beverages.

 

We will be collecting toys at bib pickup and at the event.

The toys should be new, unwrapped, and suitable for ages 1-16.

 

OUR NEW TOY RECIPIENT IS THE STERLING COMMUNITY CENTER IN STRATFORD. 

The Sterling Community Center is an iconic and historic presence in our town.

For more than 90 years, they have welcomed and served generations of children and adults

creating impactful & inclusive programs and services that engage and cultivate a thriving community.

Our family-friendly event has a simple goal- to make as many kids as happy as we all can!

Don’t arrive earlier unless you’re feeding the seagulls - we will not be there!

And we are leaving promptly at 11am! There are games to watch!

9:45am The LITTLE TYKES RUN - Directed by DONNA CRAMOND- 

Executive Kids Race Director & former professional Cat Herder!

The kids will run a bit over one tenth mile of sheer delight!

Adults can accompany the little tykes to avoid drama (theirs or yours).

 

10 am START  -  HOLIDAY 5k RUN / walk/ stroll/ saunter, your choice.

(please stay on the left of all roads on this easy, flat, scenic, out & back course. 

 

When you’re done PLEASE stay and enjoy-

THE LITTLE PUB’s snacks and hot apple cider & hot chocolate

(which you can add an 'adult' warming shot to!) 

We will also have hot chicken broth & lots of snacks

 

Our host does it right for you!  

 

Awards, prizes, edible items and/or crazy holiday gifts

are given to the M&F Champions & first age groupers

maybe TWO deep-  age groups 9 & under, 10-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39,

40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ (and older if pre-registered)

Our scenic and flat 5k course travels through the quiet neighborhood along the water in Stratford.

It is FLAT, fun, and easily doable even for the youngest runners.

Last year our runners ranged from 6 to 81!
