Work up an appetite Thanksgiving morning at Reid Park! The Thanksgiving XC Classic offers a European style cross country course with hay bales on grass, dirt and a little asphalt. The 5K has separate races for men and women. If you run in the opposite gender race, your results may take up to 48 hours to post and you are not eligible for awards. The 5K course will be two loops and the 1.5 Mile course will be one loop. Course starts near Ramada #10 at the southwest corner of Reid Park, at 22nd Street and Country Club. Strollers are welcome although the course is hilly and mostly on grass and dirt. Lanes are provided for strollers to bypass the hay bales. Please no dogs for their safety as well as the safety of all participants.
The 5K is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix. Cotton T-Shirts offered in unisex, women's and youth options. While we try our best to ensure everyone receives their desired size, shirts are given on a first come, first serve basis.
AWARDS: 5K: Overall female and master's female winners competing in the women's 5K and overall male and masters male winners competing in the men's 5K will receive a pair of Brooks running shoes from The Running Shop. Age groups are: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, 5 year divisions through age 84, and 85 and over. First place age group winners receive a Thanksgiving themed award. A pie is awarded to second place age group winners and third place winners receive a medal. If you run in the opposite gender race, your results may take up to 48 hours to post and you are not eligible for awards. Fun Run: Finishers will receive a ribbon.
TEAM DIVISION: 5K: The top 4 times of each team of up to 7 team members will be totaled for the best team times. The top two Men's teams and top two Women's teams will win awards. Teams and team members must be registered by Tuesday, November 26, 12:00 pm. No team members may sign up race day. No teams may be formed on race day. Winners will be announced on SAR website as soon as results are confirmed.

Monday 11/24/25-Wednesday 11/26/25 10am-6pm.
Race day packet pick up and registration begins at 7:00 AM at the race site at Ramada 10. At Reid Park.
The race benefits Team Hoyt Arizona and Toys for Tots. Please consider bringing a new toy to donate to Toys for Tots.
You can still register in person on Wednesday 11-26-25 at The Running Shop (3055 N Campbell Ave) from 10:00 am-6:00 pm or race morning at (Reid Park) the registration starts at 7:00 am.
