Welcome to the 12th Annual Bernalillo County Sugar Skull Fun Run!
Get ready to walk, jog, strut and stroll at this year’s Sugar Skull Fun Run, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026.
LOCATION:
Along the scenic Tingley Drive between Central Ave and 8th Street.
PARKING:
Parking is VERY limited and carpool/rideshare is highly encouraged.
Street parking is available in the surrounding areas.
Additional parking is offered at the Monte Carlo Steakhouse (3916 Central Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105). Approximately an 11 minute walk to start line.
Complimentary shuttle service to and from Monte Carlo will be available from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
RACE DETAILS:
Participants can select from a timed 5K event for runners and walkers and an untimed one-mile strut and stroll for strollers and pets. Whether you are walking, jogging or running your way to the finish line, we look forward to cheering you on in your best Día de los Muertos attire!
5k Fun Run begins at 9 a.m., with a warm-up led by Desert Lotus beginning at 8:45 a.m.
One Mile Strut and Stroll begins at 10 a.m.
Children ages five years and younger may participate for FREE. Race shirts for this category will be available for purchase during registration until Sept. 21.
** Race shirts will be available at packet pickup. Shirt sizes will be available on a first come, first served basis. Race shirts run large. Exchanges will not be available. **
Pets are welcome for the one-mile strut and stroll.
Food trucks and the Muerto Market are open to the public.
