Welcome to Stop 14: Divernon, home to one of the most beautifully restored Route 66 gas stations in Illinois. This 6.6K run/walk captures the essence of the Mother Road: vintage charm, small‑town pride, and history preserved with love. The restored station — complete with classic pumps, bright signage, and unmistakable Route 66 character — serves as the perfect anchor for this event. It’s a place where travelers still stop for photos, where nostalgia lives in the details, and where our mission finds a backdrop that feels both authentic and iconic.
This series stands in solidarity with Enric Casacuberta, who is running the entire Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo to honor those living with ALS. At each stop, participants join Enric for a 2.1‑mile shared “Sidekick” segment — a symbolic reminder that no one travels this road alone. Divernon offers one of the most heartfelt meet‑up points, where restored history meets living purpose.
