Soar on Skimmers Fun Run
Where Every Step Sparks School Spirit!
FINAL SPRINT TO OUR GOAL
Our goal for this year’s event is $50,000. We are almost at the halfway mark! Any last-minute pushes for donations are greatly appreciated and will help bring exciting opportunities to our students. Our total annual goal is $250,000 to fund technology classes, the Spanish program, GreenHeart Project, staff professional development, and Aquarium “Think Tank” maintenance and stocking.
Classes that have the most participation or raise the most funds will be recognized by the Friends Group. IF we reach our goal of $50,000, Ms. Cassell, Ms. King and Friends President, Paige Hauff will become a human ice cream sundae; yes you read that correctly!
Where is the event taking place for SIES Students only?
The run/walk will be held on the beach directly behind the school at:
2014 Mike Perkis Pl, Sullivans Island, SC 29482
PARKING & VIEWING
Families can access the beach from the school boardwalk or from any access point between Stations 21–23. These locations will put you right along the 0.25-mile course, giving you great spots to cheer students on as they run back and forth.
T-SHIRTS
If you ordered a shirt, they are being sent home today.
NO EARLY CHECKOUT
Students will return to the building with their class immediately after their run.
NO DOGS ALLOWED
For safety and logistics, dogs are not permitted at this event.
CHEER ON SIES
This is our first-ever in-school fundraising Fun Run, and we are thrilled to celebrate as a community. Please cheer on our students, volunteers, and staff as we work together to make this an energetic and memorable day!

How does the run/walk work?
Each grade level will participate in waves. Students will complete as many loops as they can within a 30-minute time period. Each loop is a 0.25-mile out-and-back, totaling 0.5 miles per loop.
Are volunteers needed?
Yes! We will need volunteers along the course and the finish line. Please click volunteer above to select how you want to help.
What else is happening at the event?
Participants will enjoy music, community spirit, and a chance to have fun while fundraising for the school.
How to fundraise: Ask your family, friends, and neighbors to sponsor you in the fun run! You can use your website that you create here and record their name and donation amount on this paper for your records. Write your thank you notes after the run. *Donations support additional teachers, teacher supplies, Green Heart gardening, aquariums, support for music and art, and more!
