From the Organizer
We are proud to announce the 2026 Sheriff’s Shuffle 5K Run/Walk — a community event dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and taking action against domestic violence across Western Massachusetts. 🏃♀️💜🏃♂️
This year, Sheriff Nick Cocchi is once again partnering with the YWCA of Western Massachusetts to support survivors and help prevent domestic violence before it turns deadly. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the YWCA’s life-saving programs, which provide emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, and critical support services to individuals and families in crisis.
The need for these services remains urgent. In Massachusetts, domestic violence programs served more than 2,300 victims in a single 24-hour period during a 2024 statewide survey, while nearly 600 additional requests for help went unmet due to limited resources. In 2023 alone, Massachusetts recorded 19 domestic violence homicides, continuing a troubling trend that impacts communities across the Commonwealth.
Closer to home, the YWCA of Western Massachusetts answered more than 6,500 hotline calls and served nearly 12,000 people through supportive programs in a single year.
The Sheriff’s Shuffle has become more than just a race — it’s a movement. Each year, our community comes together to honor survivors, support families, and stand beside the organizations working every day to make our region safer. Every sponsorship, registration, and donation helps expand services, raise awareness, and remind survivors that they are not alone.
We invite you to consider becoming a sponsor, registering to run or walk, or making a donation of any amount. Sponsorship opportunities are outlined in the attached sheet.
This year’s Sheriff’s Shuffle will take place at the Ashley Reservoir in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Day-of registration and post-race entertainment will once again take place at the Holyoke Elks.
Questions regarding sponsorship or other ways to get involved can be directed to Davis Snow at Davis.Snow@SDH.State.MA.US or (413) 887-7479.
