The Shenandoah SHReD brings Cross-Country E-Bike Racing to Shenandoah River State Park for the first time — and it’s doing it on Bike Your Park Day, Virginia State Parks’ annual statewide celebration of cycling on two wheels. Whether you’re a seasoned XC-E competitor chasing podium points or a rider discovering what this park’s trail network can do, September 27th is your day to find out.
The course is set entirely within Shenandoah River State Park, where the Blue Ridge Mountains frame a network of hardwood-ridge singletrack and open river-corridor trails that reward both skill and speed. With nearly 1,100 feet of elevation gain per lap, technical climbs, and a fast, flowing descent back to the valley floor, this course will test your fitness, your bike setup, and your power management from the first pedal stroke to the last.
This is a Bike Your Park Day event. That means your race entry is a celebration — of Virginia’s trail systems, of the park that hosts us, and of the growing community of riders proving that e-bikes belong on the starting line.

Mountain biking takes place on singletrack and natural terrain where reading the trail matters as much as fitness — cornering, braking, and instinct on dirt are skills that only come from time in the saddle.
Events range from beginner-friendly cross-country races to technical enduros.
Mountain bike races take place on singletrack trails and natural terrain — dirt, roots, rocks, and forest roads. Mountain biking rewards skill as much as fitness.
