SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay is a running race on February 7, 2027 in San Antonio, TX, with an entry fee of $40.
From the Organizer
Get ready for 2027! After a 3rd straight sell-out, we expect even more teams this year. Last year's revised course turned out to be so popular we going to do it again. Still 26.2 miles, still a little hilly, still a whole lot of fun!
In celebration of the great Howard Peak Greenway System, you and your team can cover 26.2 miles of this beautiful, scenic, shaded course that explores the many parks along the Salado creek at the edge of the Texas Hill Country in San Antonio. You can have a minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team and there are several categories for you to compete against other teams. This is a point-to-point course and each leg of the marathon relay explores a different section of the Greenway trail. There are 5 Relay Legs that vary in length, so you will have to strategize on which of your runners to put on which leg.
The race starts at the Rim Trailhead off Vance Jackson Road and ends at the McAllister Dog park trailhead where a celebration and medals will be waiting for your team. Complete map and instructions can be found under the Runner Race Guide menu tab.
If you have never participated in a point-to-point relay before, you are in for quite the adventure. Part of the fun is making sure your runners get to their relay points on time and then meeting your last runner at the finish line to celebrate as a team. So pick your team carefully. Runners of all abilities are welcome. (Must be at least 14 years old to participate.)
This race SOLD OUT the last 3 years, so register early to secure your spot. Shirts are only guaranteed to the first 500 registrants prior to January 15th, after January 15th, shirts or shirt sizes are not guaranteed.
Registration fee is per person. All members of the team must register separately and either create a team or join an existing team.
