From the Organizer
Michigan Men's Health Foundation's annual Run for the Ribbon 5K takes place Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 8 a.m. at the Detroit Zoo to support prostate cancer survivors and those who love them. Participants can participate in the 5K run/walk loop or a 1 Mile Stroll inside the zoo. All participants will receive a race shirt, medal, and complimentary entry to the Detroit Zoo; overall and age group awards will be given. What a great way to spend Father's Day!
Prostate cancer survivors receive a special gift at the Michigan Men's Health Foundation tent. Visit the Celebration Signs & More tab to dedicate a sign and learn about the other ways you can honor the prostate cancer hero in your life.
Registrants are encouraged bring a team and build a personal fundraising page asking friends and family members to donate when they sign up for the event. Registrants can upload photos, a personal story and set up team or personal fundraising goals. Each secure team page or personal page will have its own custom URL.
Age Based Discounts - We ask that all participants are registered, including stroller entries, but offer age-based discounts for both the run and the stroll. Age based discounts are available for children 0-2 and 3-13. All stroller entries receive a t-shirt, medal, and zoo entry with their race bib.
Parking is available in the Zoo parking structure or the surface lot to the left of the main entrance to the Zoo. You must enter the Zoo by 10:30 AM for your complimentary entry to be honored.
*Please note that according to Zoo regulations, dogs are not allowed at this race*
