Location: East River, around Roosevelt Island Swimmers will begin at the southern tip of Roosevelt Island, proceeding north up the east channel, and returning down the west channel, finishing where they began. The swim will start approximately 1 hour prior to slack at flood into ebb.
Distance: 4 Miles
Experience Requirement: The Roosevelt Island Swim is a challenging open water event, in typically choppy conditions. All participants must provide proof of recent, comparable open water swim experience (the PRIDE Swim Manhattan is an acceptable qualifier), and must swim at a pace of 30 minutes per mile or faster.
