Course Description:
To make it easier for course setup and take down the course will be the same, slight variations from each week but it will mostly be the same each week. We'll be using majority of the XC ski trails, so expect lots of up and down. There is about 85% light coverage, but it's still mandatory to have a light on your bike or helmet so you can see in some of those small dark spots or if we ride small sections of singletrack. No barriers but a long stair run up every lap.
Roadrunner Cup Series:
We will have series winners for Beginner/Novice, FTW Non-Binary and Intermediate/Advanced categories. Riders will have to participate in all three races to earn points. Here's how scoring works:
Your finishing places from all three races are added together, and the rider with the lowest total in each category after October 27 wins the Roadrunner Cup. For example, finishing 2nd, 1st and 3rd gives you a total of 6. To be eligible for the series standings, you must start all three races: October 13, 20 and 27. Series categories: Beginner/Novice, FTW Non-Binary, and Intermediate/Advanced. The Kids race is not scored. If you change categories during the series, you are no longer eligible for series standings. Juniors race free and are scored in the category they choose. Ties are broken by the better finish at the final race on October 27, then by the most race wins.
Weather:
Unfortunately there is a possibility that we'll need to cancel if the course is soaking wet. We know, not the spirit of CX but we need to follow the parks rules. All riders will be refunded if the race is cancelled. Have a park in mind that will allow us to ride even if weather isn't good? Let us know and we can try and get that park reserved for next year.
