From the Organizer
This is a 5k fundraising race to help support Pink Sistas-a local organization dedicated to helping women find connections with other women as well as themselves again after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer often times feel vulnerable. Although many women have the support of loved ones, many women go through the journey alone. No matter what support they have, it's a lonely journey that only those who have walked the same path can understand.
Pink Sistas offers that connection through no-cost day trips and no-cost 3-day retreats.
At their day trips, women have the opportunity to share their story, have lunch on our 22-foot pink drifter party barge, kayak, paddle board, and network with other like-minded women who are also breast cancer survivors and warriors. The result is an amazing opportunity to create bonds and just relax and have fun. At our 3-day retreats, women share their story, relax, exercise together, enjoy meals together, doing crafts, and most importantly, create connections and get the love and support they need in a time when they need it most.
