A Will County Thanksgiving tradition for more than 40 years! Join Prairie State Road Runners for another running of the Poultry & Pie Predictor on Thanksgiving morning in beautiful Pilcher Park located in Joliet, IL. We are back at the Horticultural Center!
Leave your watches and timing devices at home! This is a prediction run. All runners - regardless of speed - have a chance to win a Thanksgiving prize! Enter and predict how long it will take you to complete the 4-mile course on the park roads. Those closest to their prediction will choose between a variety of frozen turkeys, holiday pie/sweets and gift cards.
For this race, we ask that you refrain from using watches, phones, music players, or anything that will help you keep pace. You're on the honor system! Just enjoy the park scenery.
But there's more! The 1 Mile Kids race will start at 8:40 am. This race is for kids ages 6-12 and each finisher will received a goodie. And our littlest runners age 5 & under can line up for the 25-yd Toddler Gobbler dash. This event is FREE. Each little champion will receive a bag of goodies.
All races start and end at the Barber & Oberwortmann Horticultural Center (227 N. Gougar Rd) in Joliet. There will be no race day registration, so please use our online registration service. Parking is VERY limited, so plan to carpool and/or arrive early for the best spots. We will have volunteers enlisted to help you find a spot.
The 4 mile predictor race is limited to 250 participants. When the race reaches capacity, we will activate a waitlist.
Note: This event will take place rain or shine. No refunds will be issued.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Schedule of Events:
7:45am - 8:45am - Check-In
8:40am - Kids 1 Mile
9:00am - 4 Mile Run/Walk
10:20am - Toddler Gobbler 25 Yard Dash
10:45am - Awards Ceremony
This is NOT a chipped time race. This race will be hand-timed. Results will not be immediately available online, but will be posted at a later time.
