Join us for the 6th Annual Pi Day 5k on March 13, 2027! 

Join us for the Pi Day 5k, taking place on Saturday March 13 at Hawk Island Park. This event raises money for Impression 5 Science Center's scholarship program. Impression 5 Science Center is a dynamic, interactive space for families to play, create, and challenge their understanding of science together. By participating in this event, you’ll support their scholarship programs, which increase access to their exhibits and experiences for children and families throughout our community. Participants receive a t-shirt, medal and free slice of pie after the race! If participating isn't the right fit there are also opportunities to volunteer during the event. 

Race Details 2027!

Location: Hawk Island Park, 1601 E Cavanaugh Rd, Lansing, MI 48910

Start Time: 9:00 am on Saturday March 13, 2027. The 10k will start at 9:00 AM and the 5k will start at 9:05 AM.

Entry Fee: 5k & 10k Early Bird Registration now until Nov 14, 2026 $30. Registration is $40 from Nov. 15, 2026 through February 27, 2027. Late Registration is $45 from February 28-March 13, 2027. Kids Pricing Available starting at $20 during Early Bird Registration. New Frills pricing for those that don't want a shirt or medal, starts at $15 during Early Bird Registration. Register by January 31, 2027 to guarantee your shirt size.

This year, as a participant, you can look forward to:

🥧 Pie from Grand Traverse Pie Company for all participants
🏅 Finisher medal for everyone who completes the race
👕 Race t-shirt
🏆 First place winners receive: $20 gift certificate from Grand Traverse Pie Company OR Playmakers gift card
First, Second and Third place finishers will receive 50% off registration to a future Mi Community Event race (details to follow)

Age Groups: Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. 

Early Packet Pick Up: TBD at Playmaker's (2299 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, MI 48864) 

Day of Packet Pick Up: check in will begin at 8 AM prior to the race at Hawk Island in the Red Tail Pavilion.

Parking: Parking fee will be added to your registration upon check out. Show your email confirmation/registration or race bib upon entering park. 

Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. Timing done by Michigan Running Foundation.

No-shows to the race will forfeit their shirt and finisher medal.

Virtual Pi Day 5k: If you can't make the race and still want to participate, sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and medal to you! Cost is $50 and includes shipping. Virtual event registration closes March 13th. Registrations received on or before March 5, will be mailed on March 8th. Registrations after March 5th will be mailed out closer to March 13th.
