From the Organizer
In honor of the CampFire, that devastated The Ridge, this 5K walk/run and 10K run is a commemorative event created as a tribute to the resilience of the residents who have overcome.
The 5th Annual Phoenix 5K is more than just another running event… It's a living tribute to the strength and resilience of the Ridge community after the devastation of the 2018 CampFire. Symbolized by the Phoenix, this commemorative event honors how residents have risen from tragedy to rebuild and thrive.
The route guides participants along the Memorial Trail and through meaningful landmarks; new homes and empty lots, rebuilt schools, murals, handprint wall and the future Hope Plaza, while also passing the police and fire departments to recognize the heroes who protected the town. Each step on this course tells a story of remembrance, gratitude, and hope for what continues to rise on the Ridge.
The event includes a 5K walk/run, a proposed 10K run and a free pancake breakfast for the entire community.
