From the Organizer
Join us Saturday, October 17, 2026, for the 5th Annual Overdose Lifeline Outpacing the Stigma 5K Run/Walk* as we honor lives lost to drug overdose. The CDC estimated 80,391 U.S. drug overdose deaths in 2023. While this a 25% decline from 107,543 deaths in 2023, this is still 220 deaths per day. We will run and walk to remember those lives, especially Hoosier lives, as well as raise awareness.
On the morning of Saturday, October 17, runners and walkers of all abilities, advocates, and affected individuals will come together on a beautiful course along the Indianapolis Canal and through the Butler Campus. Money raised will support Heart Rock Justus Family Recovery Center, ensuring that Moms and children can live, grow, and be healthy together.
Since its inception in November 2022, Heart Rock Recovery Center has served more than 89 moms and 45 babies. It is designed for pregnant women and mothers ages 18+ who are in recovery from substance use or dual diagnosis. We offer toddler-friendly subsidized housing and holistic substance use therapy in Marion County, Indiana to help keep women and children together throughout recovery.
Funds raised through 5K registrations and fundraising efforts of teams and individuals will support operations of Heart Rock Recovery Center; including subsidized housing support for moms and babies.
$1,500 provides one month of free housing and recovery support for a mom
$1,000 provides one month of free housing and supplies for a baby
$750 provides a one-year supply of diapers for a baby
$150 provides a Child Advocate
$75 provides a hygiene basket for a mom
$50 provides a hygiene basket for a baby
Further your impact on moms and babies by setting up a team in honor of a loved one or friend. You can invite people to join you at the 5K or donate to your fundraising page. All donations are tax deductible (as allowable by law) and go directly to support operations at Heart Rock Justus Family Recovery Center. Click on the "Become a Fundraiser" tab to get started. If you would like to set up an "umbrella" team that allows others to set up a team under your team, please contact Madison Kelleher at madison@overdoselifeline.org.
