Okemos Wolf Run and Walk is a running race on August 29, 2026 in Okemos, MI, with entry fees from $20 to $25.
From the Organizer
Join us for one of Okemos's most spirited community traditions! The Okemos Wolf Run & Walk is a family-friendly morning of fitness, fun, and school spirit featuring events for all ages and abilities. Whether you're a competitive runner, casual walker, parent cheering from the sidelines, or a preschooler racing on the track for the first time, there's something for everyone.
For the 2026 event, we are introducing Wolf Run Impact Grants. This year's recipients are the Okemos Woof Pack, the Okemos Cheer Team, and the Okemos Dance Team. The Wolf Run will be donating $500 to each of these organizations. If we meet our goal of 500 registered participants, we will be able to double the donation to $1000 for each group. Help us help three deserving Okemos groups by registering today!
Participants can choose from the 5K Run/Walk, Family Mile Run, Roll & Stroll, and Kid Sprints. All participants registered by August 11 will receive an official event t-shirt and participation medal. 5K participants will also receive official chip timing.
But the fun doesn't stop at the finish line!
Stay for the 2nd Annual Mascot Trot, the free grand finale of the Wolf Run. Okie the Wolf has invited nine mascot friends from across the greater Lansing area to compete in a 50-yard dash for the title of Mascot Trot Champion! Returning "Founding Trotters" include Curby, Whoodini, Bubbles, Joey, Scoopie, and title-holder ZZ from Zap Zone, XL. New challengers this year include Truckee, McGruff, and Chuck E. Cheese.
The Wolf Run is more than a race - it's Okie's pep rally to kick off the 2026-2027 school year! Enjoy bounce houses, music from DJ Krummy, performances by the OHS Cheer and Dance Teams, appearances by the Okemos Woof Pack, shopping with Fabricated Customs, and more. Admission to the stadium and festivities is free.

Where Your Registration Makes an Impact
Proceeds from the Wolf Run support P.A.W.S. (Pep and Wolf Squad), the Okemos High School student organization that manages the district mascot program. During the 2025-2026 school year, P.A.W.S. coordinated more than 52 FREE community appearances, bringing school spirit and student engagement to athletic events, Science Nights, Special Olympics, Protect the Pack, Multicultural Nights, family events, and district celebrations.
P.A.W.S. also launched the inaugural Okemos' Biggest Fan Tour, recognizing over 20 outstanding staff members (and therapy dogs!) across the district through a one-day celebration that visited every school building.
Funds raised through the Wolf Run support mascot costume maintenance, student leadership development, community outreach, school spirit initiatives, and future projects. Upcoming plans include the Wolf Pack Art Initiative, a Coach of the Season recognition program, and the creation of a District Beautification Student Club.
By participating in the Wolf Run, you're helping to create memorable experiences, celebrate our schools, and strengthen the entire Okemos community.
Run. Walk. Cheer. Support School Spirit.
