Steadman Baptist Church ‘Love in Motion 5K’ is back! Last year, we had a great turn out; with many sponsors and runners aligning for our mission trip needs to Liberia. We are so thankful to you all. This year, all proceeds will go towards Live 2540’s November Match to help the children of Liberia and staff at Jesus Loves Me Children’s Center. We invite you to come run, walk, or partner/donate to this wonderful cause.

Steadman Baptist Church cannot wait for you to enjoy this race, starting in the church parking lot. You will get to roll through small hills (~148’ total elevation), pass the Taylor Christmas Tree Farm, beautiful pastures, and see animals at Backwoods Steakhouse! Come chase that PR through the countryside or bring the family for a fun walk. Aid stations will be at the parking lot and middle intersection where you can access it three times during the race (~ .5,1.5, and 2.5 mile). We end at the church, where refreshments and post-race festivities await. We are praying for an amazing morning of worship, fellowship, and cardio.

Got a little one that needs attention while you run? We will have dedicated and vetted church staff volunteers that hang out on the playground with them. After the run, we will have a 2 loop FUN RUN around the parking lot of the church for the kids.

Participants: Open to church members, their families, and the broader community.

Timeline

  7:00 a.m. — Volunteer check-in and setup
  8:00 a.m. — Registration opens
  8:45 a.m. — Warm-up and group prayer
  9:00 a.m. — 5K 
10:00 a.m. — 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
10:15 a.m. — Awards and fellowship

Warm-Up Activities: There will be an organized group-stretch and prayer led by church leaders to set a positive, unifying tone.

Course Monitors: Volunteers will be at key intersections for safety and to cheer runners on.

Water Stations: At least two stations—one at the 1mile and one at the finish line.

Medical Support: Have a designated first aid team on site and a plan for emergencies.

Photography: Assign volunteers to capture moments along the route and during the awards ceremony.

Child-care: Church staff volunteers will watch kids on playground during the race if provided child registration form filled out.

Post-Race Activities & Refreshments: Water, fruit, granola bars, and other healthy snacks

Awards Ceremony: Recognize overall winners, age group finishers.

NOTE: There are no awards for the '1 Mile'...it's just for FUN!

Fellowship:  After the race, stick around and take advantage of the opportunities for mingling and connection, including prayer and testimonials about what the race means to the community. Please, please, please ask about our mission trip and Live 2540. God is working!

Professional Timing: The race will be electronically-timed by Wire2WireRunning, a professional timing company using the same MyLaps equipment the Atlanta Track Club uses for the Peachtree Road Race.

Community Impact: This event fosters unity, encourages physical health, and raises funds for Live 2540. You can find more information about Live 2540 at http://www.live2540.org

Inclusivity: Participation from all ages and fitness levels makes the race feel welcoming.

Consider adding a 1-mile fun walk for those unable to complete a full 5K or track around the church.
