From the Organizer
Private event for residents, staff, board members, and their invited family members and guests.
We run these streets! Well, courts are more like it. You know what we mean. Join Twin Lakes Community as we launch our first ever race/walk/roll and stroll through our annual holiday light display. Along with the light display, prepare to meet the residents who call this place home. Many of them will be cheering and serenading you with holiday song from the sidelines as you make your way through the course.
The event will be held Sunday, December 7 beginning at 4:30 p.m. We recommend arriving between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm in order to park and get to starting area. The official run/walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. sharp. No late comers. We will have a short 1-mile course and a longer course available for folks who can’t get enough of the lights. The event wrap-up will include cookies, hot chocolate, and a visit from the big guy himself. Plan to be off the course by 7:00 p.m. Please register by November 14 to guarantee an event T-shirt.
Proceeds and collected donations will be distributed evenly between our local Meals on Wheels program and the Salvation Army.
You’ve got questions, we’ve got some answers.
Since this is our first time hosting such an event, we’d like to keep things small’ish. Staff and residents are welcome to participate and can invite family members and their favorite running buddies. (Sorry no 4 legged running buddies allowed).
Please be mindful that you will be walking in a active community neighborhood. There will be one lane of traffic open for public traffic use. The course will be monitored by safety officers and volunteers to help reduce and control the movement and speed of traffic during the run/walk.
Dress for the event and weather. We recommend comfy sneakers, warm clothes, and even holiday festive wear if you are feeling yourself. Headlamps are recommended for those planning to be at the front of the pack. For the rest of us, bring a flashlight to illuminate your path, or just enjoy the beauty of the lights as they light up the night sky.
