The Carolina For The Kids' race series, Kilometers For The Kids, is a hybrid event, meaning there is an in-person race and a virtual option! Join us for an interactive weekend on November 12-15! All proceeds will directly benefit the patients and families of UNC Children's Hospital.
In-Person 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run - November 15, 2026
The in-person race will take place on November 15th at 7:30 am. You will have the choice of either running, jogging, or walking the one-mile Fun Run or 5K. The race will begin at the Old Well on UNC's campus and take place throughout the University's campus.

Virtual Events - 5K and 10K - November 12-15, 2026
The virtual race can be completed any time between November 12th-15th. You can run a 5K or 10K. By participating in a virtual race, you get to run, jog, or walk anywhere you would like. Also you get to time it yourself and submit your results online! Whether you live in Chapel Hill or several states away, you are welcome to participate!
In-Person & Virtual Participant Packet Pick-Up
By participating in any of the races, you have the choice of receiving a race packet! All packets will contain a KFTK shirt, various coupons for community businesses, snacks, and a For The Kids story. In addition, Fun Run packets will have a themed activity, and 10K/5K packets will include an exclusive KFTK sticker.

If you are unable to attend any of these dates, you will be able to pick up your packet materials on the morning of the race. If you will be picking up your packet on race day, please prepare to arrive at the Old Well at 7am, 30 minutes prior to the start of the race.
Mail My Packet Option for Virtual Events: If you would like a race packet and are not in the Chapel Hill area to pick it up, you can pay a small shipping fee and have it sent to you! All packets will include a KFTK shirt. In addition 10K and 5K packets will include an exclusive sticker. Furthermore, everyone will receive a virtual For The Kids story and various coupons.
