From the Organizer
Join us for the 13th Annual Junior Achievement of the Ocoee Region 5K Race to Achieve sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Greenway Park. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m., and both the 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. The race course will take place along the Greenway and does not cross any streets, making it a safe and family-friendly experience for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. All proceeds benefit Junior Achievement of the Ocoee Region’s financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs serving students throughout Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, and Polk counties.
Parking will be available at Greenway Park and surrounding designated event areas. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, packet pickup, and pre-race activities. Restrooms will be available near the start/finish area, and water stations will be located at the start line, turnaround point, and finish line. Light snacks and refreshments will also be available following the race. For the safety of all participants, volunteers certified in CPR and First Aid will be stationed throughout the course, and emergency personnel will be on-site if available.
Early Packet pickup will be at the Junior Achievement office on September 18th, 2026 from 12pm-6pm, address: 3535 Adkisson Drive Building 15 Cleveland, TN 37312. Participants are encouraged to register early, as race pricing will increase as the event date approaches. Race shirts and sizes are not guaranteed for late registrations. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, top male and female finishers in each age group, and the top finishing team following the race.
Strollers are welcome; however, participants using strollers are asked to begin near the back of the starting lineup and remain mindful of runners throughout the course. For the safety and comfort of all participants, dogs are discouraged during the race. If participants choose to bring a dog, it must remain leashed at all times and under control by the owner. Junior Achievement reserves the right to ask any participant with a disruptive or unsafe pet to leave the event area.
The JA 5K Race to Achieve is a rain-or-shine event. In the event of severe weather, lightning, dangerous course conditions, or other unsafe circumstances, race officials may delay, shorten, alter, or cancel the event in consultation with local safety officials. Participant safety is always the top priority. Because race expenses are incurred in advance, all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, including in the event of cancellation due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for race-day conditions and stay hydrated before and during the event.
