After a few years off the calendar one of the Shoals' most beloved races is back and nearly out of breath! Ready to make you earn every mile, the Huff ’N Puff on the Bluff 15K returns to downtown Sheffield, winding through scenic downtown streets and along the Tennessee River for a breathtaking (and leg‑burning) 9.3‑mile challenge. The pigs are running again, and the wolf’s not far behind!
USATF 15K Course: AL15011JD
Please do not enter if you cannot maintain at least a 14:30 pace per mile. Due to course constraints, there will be no wheelchair division. Baby joggers, strollers, and animals will not be allowed on the course.
All runners registered before our T-shirt deadline are guaranteed an awesome race shirt.
Awards for 15K Top 3 Overall Male/Female, Top Masters (40+) Male/Female, Top GrandMasters Male/Female (60+), and 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male/Female Age Groups (14U, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)
There will be three aid and recovery stations on the course. Mile markers will be clearly displayed and split times given at each mile. Restroom facilities will be available at the 2nd aid station.

When is the event? Saturday, March 6, 2027 - 8:00 am CT RACE START
What time should I arrive? If you can't make it to early packet pick-up on Friday, March 5th, please plan to arrive prior to 7:15 AM to leave yourself adequate time to get check-in, receive your runner packet, and get warmed up
Can I register on race day? Yes -- we will allow race day registrations up until 15 minutes before race start, but please arrive early as there will be a line and we will have to shut-off registrations at 7:45 AM to support our planned start time
Where do I get my packet? Early Packet Pickup for the race will be held at Solid Rock Running Company in Florence, AL on Friday, March 5th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM or you can pick up your race packet starting at 6:30 am race day morning at the Sheffield Recreation Center
I‘m part of a group that’s running together. Can I pick up everyone’s bib? Yes! All you’ll need is their full name and everyone will be ready to take-off on Race Day!
Are shirts included with registration? Yes, if you register before the shirt deadline on, your exclusive race tee in the size you order is 100% guaranteed!
When is the deadline to register and be guaranteed a race shirt? End of day February 13th . After the deadline, if all shirt sizes are listed as SOLD OUT, please select the None option to complete your registration and any extra shirts will be available after the awards at the event.
Are there Medals or Prizes? Awards will be handed out for the top three overall female and male runners, and top overall Masters (40+) and GrandMasters (60+) divisions and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals are awarded to the top three female and male finishers in each of the 10-year age groups.
What are the age groups? Male and Female groups for 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Are strollers allowed? No, due to the nature of the terrain and crossings, this course is not stroller, wagon, or wheelchair
Are bikes, hoverboards, scooters, skateboards, push bikes, unicycles or wagons allowed on course?
We’re sorry, but no wheeled vehicles are allowed at this event.
Are pets allowed? No pets are allowed on this course. This rule is strictly ENFORCED.

Does the 15k course have hills? Yes, there are hills along the course with a grade of 8-15%
I'd like to participate. Do I have to be an experienced runner? Can I walk? The 15K (9.3 mile) distance requires adequate training it is not recommended for unexperienced runners
