is excited to host our 

9th Annual Hope for Vision Walk

 

SUNDAY, APRIL 18th, 2027

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

FUN FOR ALL AGES • FREE TO ATTEND • FAMILY GAMES & ACTIVITES

 

Get ready for a family fun morning at the Hope for Vision Walk! Walk a mile on an indoor track, hang with DJ Super Dave as he plays kid-friendly music and games, and enjoy delicious refreshments. The event is free to attend and great for all ages! Participants are encouraged to fundraise and/or donate. Any amount, big or small, makes an impact. Everyone who raises at least $100 will receive a free t-shirt. Every step helps fund research and support families with children facing vision loss!

 

WEEKEND OF CONNECTION, LEARNING & IMPACT 
This event is part of PRRF's United in Hope Weekend, taking place April 16 - Sunday, April 18 in and around Rochester, MI (with virtual options, as well!). Events include a Welcome ReceptionFamily Connection ConferenceDinner & Connection Reception, and the Hope for Vision Walk. All events are free to attend and open to all ages. Come for one, some, or all. Your choice! 

 

OUR MISSION
The mission of the Pediatric Retinal Research Foundation (PRRF) is to raise awareness of pediatric retinal diseases, drive research, and support the community of affected individuals and their families. ABOUT THE WALK

Our annual Hope for Vision Walk brings together supporters, families, and advocates to raise funds and awareness for pediatric retinal disease research and community programs. Participants can join with us virtually in their own communities or in-person at Oakland University's Recreation Center.

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  • Choose to participate in person or virtually.
  • Register an an individual or create/join a team.
  • Receive a Walker Welcome Kit  by email to get you started.
  • Set a goal and invite friends, family, and colleagues to donate to your page.
  • Join us in person on April 18th at Oakland University for a morning of walking and community activities. Or you can participate virtually by choosing your date, rallying your crew, and going for a walk!
  • If you're participating in person, join us on April 18th at Oakland University for a fun morning of walking and 
  • Send your photos to info@prrf.org to be featured and shared with the PRRF community. 

 

How Will the Funds Raised Help PRRF?

Funds raised will advance pediatric retinal disease research while strengthening PRRF’s community programs. Support will include research at the Pediatric Retinal Research Lab at Oakland University, the Ophthalmic Biobank, sponsorship of SUPER Scholars at Oakland University’s Eye Research Institute, and programs such as the Through Our Eyes podcast, the annual Family Connection Conference, our community portal and mentorship program, and more.
